My name’s Charley and my partner is Paul and I run walkies with lots of help from our children Taylor and Riley. We are based in Ammanford South Wales. I have always had a huge passion for animals ever since I was little.
When I was studying for my diploma in dog behaviour I started a dog walking business concentrating on dogs with behaviour problems. Then one of my customers couldn’t cope with her dog anymore and asked that we re-homed him. We sorted out his behaviour problems and found him a great home.
My partner and I got so much back from this we decided to start walkies re homing. I have since finished my diploma in dog behaviour and have adapted a unique system using positive reinforcement.

Our home
We have recently relocated to a beautiful farm on the edge of the Black Mountain, near Swansea in South Wales. We have been able to build our own kennels and have designed them so that our dogs can all be kept together in packs. We still have lots of work to do, but we and the dogs love living here.
We built the kennels onto the existing barn, as you can see we still have a bit to go to get them finished but we are really pleased with how they are coming on. We mainly use the kennels for our pack dogs and the big rehomers and lifers. The dogs love being able to live together and they can see onto the yard and check out who is coming to visit!
We have an annexe which we use for our training and rehoming customers. We also use it as a play area for the dogs when it is raining. Its also a great place for us all to have a cuppa and chill out with the dogs.
When you come and visit us we encourage you to bring your whole family along, other pets included, one lady even brought her tortoise! We like you to feel very welcome and to see our re homers in their home environment, have a coffee and a chat then go for a walk. This way you get to see the true character of the dogs.
We have approx twelve acres here split into several fields and woodland areas. The biggest fields are on a steep hill which is great for exercising the dogs (and us!) and to build up their strength.
One of our fields has a river running alongside which is great for all the dogs to have a drink, paddle or swim depending on their mood. It is very peaceful down here, great for the dogs to have a relax and play. The dogs love spending time here, its a little bit of doggy heaven!
We are very lucky that we have the Ynys Dawela Nature Park right on our doorstep. It is a beautiful park with paths that go through woods, along the river and through meadows. Its a great place for walking the dogs and socialising them.
We aim to keep all the Walkies dogs in a calm and stress free environment, we spend a lot of time walking the dogs and letting them run in the fields and play in the river. We have space to train them and for lead walks we have the nature park. We also have grooming facilities on site and the annexe for lots of cuddles. We have found that a combination of the above is the best way to keep them happy and to rehabilitate our rehomers.
